Would you like to volunteer with Samen Dementia-Friendly, in order to increase knowledge in society about how to properly deal with dementia?
Then read on!

Dementia-friendly together
One in five people in the Netherlands develops dementia. We all have to deal with it; in our circle of family or friends, but also on the street, in the store or at work. That is of course difficult sometimes, but if we all make a little effort, we can do a lot for each other.
We want to make Dutch people aware of the impact of dementia on society. It helps if people not only recognize dementia, but can then also do something for someone with dementia or an informal caregiver.
For the Dementia Friendly Together program we are looking for volunteers who have experience as enthusiastic trainers. Do you want to share knowledge about dementia? Then register with Dementia-friendly Together!

What are you going to do:
Providing training in dealing with dementia PROPERLY to various target groups. You do this according to a fixed script.
• We guide you with training and intervision meetings. We focus on increasing your knowledge about dementia and deepening your training skills.
• As a trainer you give an average of 10 training courses per year.
• You can claim travel expenses.
• You provide training in your area.

Skills and qualities;
As a trainer you know how to create a familiar, safe and open atmosphere in a group. You can imagine what it is like to have a loved one with dementia and to care for this person.
• You speak openly and specifically about a subject that is still taboo for many people.
• Do not hesitate to re-enact practical situations with participants in the training.
• Finally, you can mobilize and inspire a group of people to work in a 'dementia-friendly' way in their own environment.

Why this volunteer work?
You get a unique opportunity to use your training skills for a relevant purpose! You help to make Dutch society more dementia-friendly.
You increase your own expertise and skills in dealing with people with dementia. During your work you will gain experience within this special volunteer project and you will receive good support.
