Would you like to have secondary school students do an internship within your organization ? Nice! These are the conditions that your organization must meet:

• You are a non-profit organization. The only exception is if you as an organization organize a project that revolves around corporate social responsibility. The condition is of course that the intern does his internship within this project.
• A social internship cannot consist of informal care tasks for family members or friends of the intern.
• The aim of the social work placement is to help students (further) develop their social skills. The student must therefore perform tasks within the organization that contribute to this goal.
• You offer a 'work internship' and not a job shadowing internship. It is really the intention that a student gets to work independently, not that he just watches.
• The trainee may never perform risky or dangerous work.
• The intern needs an enthusiastic and committed supervisor within the organization. The supervisor has time to help and guide the student properly, and to sign the internship contract at the start of the internship and to carefully complete the assessment form at the end. • The intern is not paid for the internship hours.

We inform and advise about the social internship in Woerden and surroundings. For this we work together with the municipality of Woerden, the Kalsbeek College and the Minkema Colleague. Every school year we bring together social organizations and hundreds of internship seekers from Woerden and the surrounding area. We do this in these ways:

• through our online offer of social internships;
• through the MaS market, the annual event where students come into contact with civil society organizations looking for trainees;
• with varying training courses and workshops on how to bind young people to your organization during their internship.

This is how we invest in socially involved young people and in the volunteer of tomorrow.

• Tell interns about how your organization works, let them know what you expect from them and ask them what they expect from the organization and their internship.
• Students often enjoy working with peers . If you have room for several trainees, feel free to use them at the same time. In this way they help and motivate each other.
• Make clear practical agreements with the students. On what day do they come for an internship? Where can they go with questions?
• Ask interns about their experiences during and after their internship. A student has a fresh look at your organization and can sometimes come up with surprising insights. And you can use his input to make your internship even more attractive for subsequent interns.
