In Woerden you will also find plenty to do as an athlete. There are a number of fun sporting events throughout the year. One of these is the Woerdense city triathlon. Every year, on Whit Monday, the center of Woerden is transformed into a sports arena. There is walking, cycling and of course swimming.

Did you know that this event is organized by volunteers? The Triathlon Woerden Foundation has been organizing the triathlon for about nine months. That's a lot of man-hours. And then we haven't counted the dozens of volunteers who make the triathlon possible on the day itself. During the triathlon there are volunteers to arrange registrations, indicate the route and supervise. A big job, but the result is of course worth it. More info?
